Metro fountain pen messed up

Got a call from a customer that the cap was loose. Went by the venue and got it. The threaded insert in the cap somehow got shoved up into the ca. The threads wouldn't mesh with the pen body. Brought it home and tried to figure out what to do. On a whim, I put the cap on the other end. A few thread meshed and I gently pulled as far as it would go. Tried again and the insert seated at the band on the end of the cap. Called the customer and will drop it off tomorrow morning.
Worried that it would be something complicated but fortunately it wasn't. Just future reference for the members.

I ponder that but, with a stroke of inspiration coupled with a generous helping of curiosity, I decided to try the other end which pulled the insert down.
