Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Wood Identification

AI will take over the world as we know it - at least according to some eggheads! So, I thought I would give AI a try in the area of wood identification. I sent the two attached pictures to Google/Gemini and you can see the results. I was very, very impresses that the results came after about 15-20 seconds - about as long as it took me to ask the question and add the pics.

I offer the IAP members an opportunity to dispute the findings or possible confirm them. Note that my son used another AI system - Grok (X AI). His AI result said it was pine or cedar and I seriously doubt that result. I look forward to the human response of the IAP members.

AI can't respond with "I don't know." or "I can't decide." "hallucinating" is a term describing when AI just makes something up. AI has gotten people from lawyers to high ranking low-life politicians in trouble because they are more stupid then the AI they are using.

With the results my son and I got I would not put any money on AI.
