agree on both points! It is heavy indeed, sooo easy to make.
The best blanks (IMO) are made by JohnU and the best way to buy the kits is the starter pack of three different steampunk pens plus the stock bushings. I use metal TBC and make my own sanding and buffing bushings.Who is making the best steampunk blanks now? Is that the PSI steampunk pen kit?
JohnU sells exclusively with Exotic Blanks and in my opinion I think he makes the best blanks around. You can tell that he's a turner because his blanks all work so nicely.Who is making the best steampunk blanks now? Is that the PSI steampunk pen kit?
All three pens took about 45 minutes from raw blanks to photos. I'll net about $60 each.JohnU sells exclusively with Exotic Blanks and in my opinion I think he makes the best blanks around. You can tell that he's a turner because his blanks all work so nicely.
He continues to experiment and push the art too which is really wonderful too.

Updating - I forgot to answer your other question. I think the Steampunk pen components from from PSI but I pretty much buy everything from Exotic Blanks. They're a couple hours up the road so I get fantastic delivery times on my orders and their customer support on questions has always been top notch.
