I stepped away for about the past 6-7 years. A week or so ago, I replaced the drive belt on my band saw and lathe. Sitting idle had ruined them over the past 6-7 years. After fixing the tools, I decided that I should make a pen. I did and remembered why I love this so much. All that being said, I'm back and very glad to be here again.

Welcome back! I'm returning as well after retiring a few years ago…

When I replaced the drive belt on my Laguna LT18 bandsaw, I used a segmented link belt instead of the usual "V" belt.

I found that it worked much better and transferred more power with deeper cuts and when cutting highly resinous timbers (like Cocobolo).

Did you use a link belt for your bandsaw belt replacement?

Cheers!

Steve
