I want to buy another set. They were assorted gauge wires with plastic balls on the ends. Where to get them. Thanks

Those are made by easy wood. You can go to a home store, get steel wire in different guages, and then turn some handles and achieve nicer versions. Drill a hole thru the handles, thread thru, tie a knot.

Not trying to be a smart you know what …. Guitar strings. Bass or acoustic? Are they
the same … does it matter?

I play guitar - the strings work great. I would 12 to 52 or so gauge for accostic guitars as Bss says.

You can buy a new set of the Easy Wood or another brand of pre-made wire burners or you can spend the time, cost and energy of making your own wire burning set. If you choose to make your own, I would suggest getting bass or guitar wire because of the different thicknesses available and the durability. Consider going to an instrument repair shop to see if they have any broken wires you can take for your use, I have gotten wire that way before because they just throw it away.

Very happy with this set... I could have made a set but laziness has taken over.
