Great work.
It's a work in progress.
There's a lot of issues with it but the finish came out nice and I like the colors.
The fact that it actually fits together and the parts all match (same material, nothing blown up) is impressive for a first go at kitless.
My first was kind of a FrankenPen! Two different not even remotely matching materials just to test the waters.
Can't wait to see your next one!

Oh no the first nib was complete crap. I'm working through the process. I'm hoping to document the steps so that it's easier to follow the next time making it more repeatable.
That is a solid plan.
I do have my steps documented and each time I make a pen, if I stumble upon a correction/improvement, etc. I update my document.

I use a parting tool for the tenon cutter or a negative rake square 1/2 scraper. Repurposed from a beading tool. Caliper to correct diameter, Nice work on the pen.I'm ok with how it turnout be it my first kitless pen.
Thing to remember....
the nib cannot be larger than the opening of the cap.
I need to invest in a tenon cutter and or square thin negative rake tool.

I am struggling ahead with my first kitless pen as well - it is definitely a learning process! Very frustrating, as I have been penmaking for a lot of years, make pretty good stuff, and now I am breaking and busting stuff like I did during my first years at this!
