I made a few wee gifts for doggie friends. Some are difficult to make out without the right background.
The Alsatian is easy enough ( am I right?) but the cocker spaniel seems to be tricky for some people.
I can see them ok as I made them....just interested if you folk can make them out. The last 2 photographs are of the same item.
Thanks. ( sorry about the photography and the background in the last photo.)

Yes, I can see the cocker in the two you're asking about. Very nice work. Do you do your own templates or get them from someplace?

Yes, Kent, no problem.
I will write out some information and PM it to you. It may be a few days.
What scroll saw are you currently using?
That's awesome thanks so much.

I probably shouldn't admit what saw I'm using it's so basic. I have a small WEN saw (#3923) that I use. The old one I had broke at the "wrong" time and that was the easiest new machine I could get that had some basic features around speed adjustment, size and such things. Also helps that their DC is local to me and I went over there and picked it up so I didn't lose any time on the projects I was working on in the shop because I was under the gun for a craft show we were doing

Kent, I started with a scroll saw that someone gave me and it would only accept pinned blades. It was just awful.
I looked up the one that you bought; it takes pinless blades so you should be able to cut away no problem.
I use Pegas blades.... I am in UK so I don't know if they are readily available to you. I know that some folk in usa use Olsen, but I don't have any experience of them.
My scroll saw is a 21 inch Axminster.......I had to replace my Excalibur (American made).... the Axminster is the Excalibur renamed and made in Taiwan....not just as good as the old Excalibur.
I believe that the name has stayed the same in America, though they are made in China now.
I started scrolling using plans that I downloaded from Steve Good. He has a mountain of different designs that you can look through until you see something that you like.
You probably are aware of him already....if not here's a link.

Nice work. Scrolling looks like a lot of fun. I do not have any room or desire to start a new hobby but admire what goes into it. My friend just returned a Hegner that has been problematic. Replaced with a Jet 22.
Hegner scroll saws would be high end, and I am surprised that your friend had a problem, They are a popular saw on the continent, though I have never used one. Maybe they have gone the way of the others and are now made in Asia, but I don't know that.

He's pretty disappointed. When it ran he loved it. Anyway very interesting hobby. How did you get started.

I started on a very cheap scroll saw which was given to me. I quickly replaced it with a more professional model and enjoyed the process a lot better, and found it more versatile. Here are some examples of different work that can be accomplished.

Who/what inspired you.
Here's a couple of links of scroll saw work that interest me.
