Well something that I avoided for many years including the covid rage, I got hit with a bug over Christmas. Have no idea where I picked it up but guessing at Church with those crowds. feel like garbage. Have to step away from shop for some time. I hate getting sick. I am a baby when I feel like this. Hope I can fight it off quickly. Went to Pharmacy to pick up some pills and stuff and the pharmacist says there is so many different viruses going around right now and the warm weather is not helping along with all this rain we are having on the east coast. If my posts do not make sense after I write them just pass on by. 🥴

The only consolation is you're not alone - there's a lot of it going around in my area. Take care of yourself John.
 
Stay warm, stay hydrated , theoretically this could include the odd beer or two but lots of fruit juice is ideal . I find vitamin C makes me feel a bit better ( evidence it help faster recovery is debated at length in scientific circles but it's cheap and cheers me up so 🤷‍♂️)

I remember the first time I got covid. I used it as an excuse to spend 4 straight days social distancing in the workshop. 🤣

I got covid 🙂

Buts it’s not all bad. 😉 Front to rear, cocobolo king, wenge, Osage orange, spalted oak, gancalo alves, cocobolo, Chechen, chatke, goncalo alves. No better place to social distance from my family than the workshop!

That is not happening. Today is the third day. Sometimes I feel better and then it is like another relapse hits. If I do not get better in 7 days I will see a doctor and get better pills or something. Not sure how well these MediMerge places are. They are popping up here all over the place.

This is what the pharmacist said. Just so much going around take your pick. it is not in my lungs. I can breathe normal but feel sluggish and can not really eat anything. Nasal passages filling. I just hate getting sick. Not as young any more to fight things off. Will see what happens in a couple days after New Year. Maybe try some chicken soup tomorrow. Mom always gave us chicken soup and Mom's know.
 
If it's covid, the drug Paxlovid will help alleviate the symptoms but must be taken within the 1st 5 days of the occurrence. Get a test kit from your pharmacy and see if it's covid. If it is, then call the doctor right away. Feel better soon!
 
Test kit? My late BIL's niece was diagnosed with Covid....after five negative tests. So she had Covid all the time but it didn't show positive.
Part of the problem is people: I watched a lady cough in her hand and put it right back on the shopping cart handle. My wife was in the waiting room at her doctor's office. Are you sitting down? A lady removed her mask, sneezed and then put her mask back on. Hello?
I had a young kid ready to check me out at the grocery. She wiped her nose and started to touch my groceries. I told her to use the sanitizer first. Each register had sanitizer. Do self-checkouts have sanitizer? Hmm.
John, hope this day finds you much better. A light coating of sawdust taken twice daily is known to help.

🏆🏆🏆 Who would have thought. I was going about this the wrong way. My symptoms seem to keep multiplying. It is not Covid. I have the home tests if they still work from the pandemic years. But developed a soar throat because of the nasal drip and now add a cough to it. But I was always taught hot tea. But I tried the fruit juice thing and what it does is cools the throat as I swish it around and then slowly swallow. I always drink a combination of Pomegranate juice with some other berries. It is not sweet or bitter but drink this cold is working. i have taken vitamin supplements my entire life and if they did anything or not who knows. Just makes expensive pee. I think my problem now is I am getting weaker from lack of food. Can not eat anything. But I will need to force myself to try soups.

I do not want this to sound like I am complaining but yes I am because I hate being sick. I believe in a couple days the pendulum will swing in my favor. probably will have to cancel my dentist appointment for next week. was suppose to get a cap on a tooth but not sure he is going to want an infected patient. You just do not know who has what these days. Just look at what Jeff said was in his office. That is one office.

Thanks all for the words of encouragement here. A minor setback. What did we do when we were young? I remember Mom said go to school you will feel better. Yea right. I swear there were never this many of these fancy viruses. Flu and that was it.
 
John - sorry to learn you're afflicted with (whatever it turns out to have been).

If you can't eat, please consider liquid nutritional supplements - I forget the common brand name, Ensure perhaps - as well as soups. My mum insisted it had to be chicken soup ("the Jewish penicillin":D ) but a hearty beef-barley seemed to work quite well, aside from making me feel guilty that I wasn't following mum's instructions.

And like all have said - I wish you a full and speedy recovery (emphasis on "full" - fast-but-partial is second choice)

Beer might be nice but can act as a diuretic.
Chicken soup was the thing in NYC. However,studies show there is something to the benefits of it. Shalom!
Just got word that one of our granddaughters has Covid. 😖
 
Well decided to take a covid test today. yes I have covid. It has been a week now since the onslaught of symptoms. I never really was under extreme distress but first day with chills was bad. Now it is a cough and still nasal drip. Taste and smell have been effected with taste slowly returning. Took temp and blood oxygen levels and all are normal and never dipped to alarming numbers. Past couple days feel the same with no improvement. Started eating whole foods again so hope that will build strength back. This is going to take awhile, I can see that. I hate being sick.
 
I hope get through the yuk in relatively short time. The waiting for all to go away was tough for us because I have a problem sitting still.

guaifenesin and dextromethorphan separately (DR approved), without all the other additives were extremely beneficial when the two of us here had a similar Covid issue. Cough and congestion hung around for 2+ weeks.

For me and the wife, so far, so good. Got my flu shot about two weeks ago; wife got hers today. Our son was feeling better but got up this morning with a temp. So much for going back to work.
