A while back I read a thread here showing a segmented blank glue-up jig. I bought the materials to make my own and they've been sitting in the corner of my workbench gathering dust. It's not Ken's jig with the track (though that one is probably even better). This one used eye bolts and HDPE, and, apparently, hinges. I dunno, maybe the hinges were another abandoned project. Anyway, I can't find the thread via searches or in the library.

A little help?

I did see that in my search, but it's not the one I was hoping to find.
I do not remember hinges ever being used for a jig. Mark Dryer's video uses the bolts and non stick material. I have shown my jig which is basically a 90 degree piece of aluminum angle and the use of small mini clamps. Working with true square blocks of material is key to great success. Keeping them square and true throughout the glue up process sure does help with success and uniformity when done. I do need to get back into doing some segmenting work again. I stepped away to concentrate on casting these days. Tough to do both because they take different skill sets to pull off. Good luck and look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I made something similar using HDPE I salvaged from a dollar-store cutting board. Glue won't stick to HDPE, so I drilled and tapped the material for machine screws. The basic function is to hold/align pieces for gluing - didn't incorporate a screw clamp like Todd - I just use ordinary shop clamps as required. Of course, that probably means that I need a few more clamps in my shop. But as they say - you can never have too many clamps.

YESSS! This was the jig I was hoping to make.

I have no idea what I bought the hinges for. Obviously something else. 🤪

Well in my house, just hold on to the hinges. At some point you'll remember or someone will remind you of "hey, remember that project you said would take 5 minutes once you had hinges?"

Just make sure you spot any sagging doors before she does ….. 😉
