It's a great day to be Irish

We used to have corned beef and cabbage, because it was a tradition, but I never really liked cooked cabbage much. We transitioned to having Rueben sandwiches instead. You still have your corned beef, and the cabbage was in the form of sauerkraut. mmmmmmmm

Can you actually dye Guinness green?:p
I used to run a sandwich shop/deli. On St Patrick's day we sold pitchers of green beer. I still have the rest of the commercial sized bottle of green food color in my cupboard! My maternal grandmother was a red-headed Irish woman. My mom had beautiful auburn hair. I got my dad's brown hair, of course.

We do the same. My spouse noticed that we enjoyed the sandwich leftovers more than original meal, so these past two years we made Reuben sandwiches on homemade rye bread. Yum!
