My first run at ebonite for a gift for a firefigther. I'm happy to have removed all the scratches though I was so focused on the material I didn't peg on how monochromatic it was. I'll likely tear it down and put some segmenting in on the next run.
Suggestions/comments/criticism welcome - especially on how to improve the shine, working ebonite with segmenting, and finishing options.

It looks good in all black. Plain isn't always a bad thing. I think too much gloss on the barrel would contrast too much with the hardware, but that's just me. Having never worked with ebonite, I can't give you any pointers as to how to put more shine on it if you really want to.
Since you asked... It's hard to see the hardware design and I have not made this kit yet, but the barrel looks a little proud at the nib end. Is it possible that the ends were reversed during assembly?
