This is the second Hummingbird House Ornament I've made from the Ambrosia Maple blanks Mike Drake sent me. The roof is Walnut, and the perch Ebony. I wanted a little more overhang on the roof, but I forgot to trim down the diameter before shaping the peak and removing it from the lathe. I wasn't used to that step. Also I wanted to shorten the overall length of the house. Three coats of Wipe On Poly. These are fun!

Very nice job. I would like to turn a few of these for our home. Were would I get plans (specs) for these? Does the type of wood make a difference?
