I listened to it :mad: . And did a Google search about it. It is so awful it has to be intentional. I have a background in music; this is beyond my poor ear training. I am BAD, this is beyond BAD! However, the commercial with Erin Andrews was OK..

I think it is funny, especially the looks on the faces of the band members when they hit a sour note. They just didn't do a very good job of dwelling or emphasizing how quiet it is and the pleasure the woman gets from rolling the window up to the silence. - Dave
 
It reminds me of one night years ago when my wife and I attended our niece's 7 grade holiday orchestra concert. To this day, their performance of the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies" haunts me. 😬😀

Wow! I forgot about those 6th and 7th grade band concerts. I had to go through it for 3 kids! Fortunately my youngest daughter opted for vocal music instead of band. (The vocal concerts weren't much better)! 😁 - Dave

It did get me at first until I realized it was children and the mom was forced to listen to her kid. How many concerts did you sit through? My poor mother.
 
Just discovered this thread 😳 and it's triggered me !!! Goodness knows how I got through 4 children and 4 grandchildren's worth of the most awful music concerts…without totally losing my sanity 🤪. And then there were all those instrument lessons…aka torture sessions…welcome to hell…this is your daughter's violin class etc etc. why the heck didn't I require hearing aids earlier in life ? At least I could've turned the things off…like I do now when the missus is talking 🤣
 
I was in advertising for 2-1/2 years and wonder how or why a company uses some of the stupid ads on TV. We changed ads for customers every 4-6 months. Get rid of the emu and the lizard! I mute all commercials, much to the annoyance of the wife.
 
I take 5 minute naps during commercials... anymore there are 5 minutes of commercials followed by 5 minutes of news content, then another 5 minutes of commercials, followed by 5 minutes or less of show content, followed by 5 minutes of commercials, followed..... well you get the idea... anymore a one hour show is 30 minutes long broken up by 30 minutes of commercials.... I hate TV
 
Gratefully, this particular commercial ended, but unfortunately for me another is being displayed with the same tune. Those first few notes followed by that hideous chord are like fingernails on a chalk board. Now I'm back to hitting the mute button. Can't win! :(
 
My spouse and I saw that commercial on TV. I remember that both of us were unhappy with it, but for a different reason.

We objected to the message, which was saw as "Indulge yourself rather than showing support for your child's music." Sure, the music was bad, but the message was worse in our opinion. It was a demonstration of poor parenting, although we sympathized with the discomfort of listening to the bad music.

I can sympathize more than others, perhaps. I have perfect pitch.
