Todays pen Byron Kit John Underhill blank. I like this pen strange blank to turn and unfortunately had the dreaded blowout. Luckily I had just enough of the blank left to make a repair you can just see it. Also alot of holes witch I filled with Epoxy probably my fault when turning but I was very careful. Hope you like it as always feel free to comment it helps me improve.

Looks great Mike! Yes, the sweetgum pods and pinecones have seeds and inner pockets that often leave small voids and holes in need of filling. I usually use sanding dust from the blank and some Thin CA or just medium CA. You made a great save! I'm glad it worked out for you. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you John perhaps thats what makes your blanks interesting to turn they all seem to have different characteristics. Keep up the good work. Does anyone in the UK stock your blanks or are they only available in the U.S.

Thanks Mike! They are only available at Exoticblanks.com
Thanks John I'll take a closer look at the Website. Having watched you recent presentation at the Symposium I know how much care you take.
