Following on from my first Inside Out attempt I decided to go large. This is more of an exercise in turning rather than making a pen. I wanted to go extreme on the technique to really show off the effect. Rather a delicate pen to turn but again it is quite strong also I wanted to paint the tube as someone suggest last time. Far to large to take a clip so I'll call it a desk pen.
Please feel free to comment. I sort of like it.

You painted the tube, but I can still see it!! Just kidding. It does have some cool factor to it. I have seen Christmas ornaments done this way and I have wanted to try them, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

KEN I painted the tube just for.you. I made it to see if I could.. Its an old technique but on a pen its difficult because of size
Thanks as always for you comments.

I like it. As you mentioned it's in the large size but I like the technique. I think the painted tube added a lot to it as well. I think it doesn't take away from the wood or design near as much as an unpainted tube.

Thank you I will just make one more and try to make it slimmer and fit a clip .
And then put it to bed. Unfortunately you cannot do much on design because of the lack of wood.

Like I said earlier though, you can make some pretty amazing ornaments with this method. It's on my to do list.

I am amazed really nice work!
Thank you I will make another and try to make it thinner but the windows will be much narrower. I just tried to demonstrate on this pen the effect.
Its an old technique but gets you thinking.
