I usually cannot even imagine using amboyna burl on a Saturn or Streamline pen, but this one might change that way of thinking. There will be a premium price as this wood is one of the best there is.

4 coats thin EZ Bond
8 coats 50 cps EZ Bond Pen Finish
400 grit sanding laterally
Buff on the Beale Buffing system (1&2)

I actually suspect there is a market for high quality, low end pens. The one you displayed is beautiful. A high quality blank with a lower end kit, that is reliable is a good combination. I hope it goes well for sales.

If someone ever makes a high end transmission for Saturns/Slimlines I'll buy some. I really hate to punch out the ones that fail...

So many people don't like the size of the higher end pens, there is something to be said for a thin pen. My favorite are the Comforts since you get just a little bit more size without being too big. The PSI DuraClick slim almost does it for me, but I don't like the narrow band or the hooky way it uses the Cross style refill. The other EDCs don't have the subtlety and simplicity of the Slimlines/Comfort.

I agree with you regarding a reluctance to use high end wood on an entry level kit, unless that is all that can be fit into a smaller blank. While I really admire Peter's (AKA PenPal) work with elegant woods and lower end kits, I'm not sure he is selling them. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It would be really interesting to see if your customers would be willing to pay for what is is worth. I suspect you are operating in a market where they might. Should you be so inclined I for one would love to see a post in the Marketing and Shows forum if you are able to sell one quickly.

If I am present when the customer is interested it should happen. When you tell them the wood alone runs $25 or more the price instantly becomes more reasonable. I'll let you know. I'm hopeful
