Bob, I'm sorry, but there's no TPI in the description of chucks, there is however in the description of handsaws. The TPI in handsaws, means teeth per inch, and there's no teeth in a chuck, just quarters.

I expect the reference is to Threads Per Inch.

Sorry , how else would you describe Threads per inch, other than TPI. Sorry for any confusion, but I assumed chuck users would know that. The TPI reference was for the chuck insert.
