I put together a pressure pot. I had see what would happen. Buckeye burl and Alumilite "Big Ben" cigar pen. Chrome and black. First one turned. A rather heavier pen, but pretty nice quality.

Well done. As you may have noticed the colorant used was either not enough or just transparent in that the tube shows through. Maybe that was your intent but just pointing out. Anyway good job for the first of many.

Congratulations on your "FIRST" !!!

Huge success, I would say !!!

I have not yet ventured down "the casting road" ... would appreciate a pic of your apparatus showing how you " put together a pressure pot ", please. . In particular, what components went into it and the source of those components. . Thanks !!!

Very nice, especially for a first try. Someone mentioned being able to see the tube. That happens often with acrylic and hybrid blanks so just plan on painting the inside of the blank or using a colored tube.

Yea... i neglected to paint the tube or inside the blank. It was my error, but to be honest, I didn't think the tube was going to show. From now on, all tubes and blanks will get painted.

You learned quicker than I did. I was so excited to make a pen out of a hybrid blank I made I made 3 or 4 before I realized I could see the tube. Plus different colors will yield different effects based on the color of the resin.

I've turned a couple of acrylic blanks so far... first one was a pink crush blank. Could see the tube. Then I found I missed a step! This pen... the brass adds to making a green effect. Not so bad. Brass and pink... well, the wife liked the pen so she kept it.

So that's a win win for you early on ! Made SWMBO a few pens thus far and all successfully received , never kn9w when you'll need the "brownie points" or tool voucher "get out of jail cards" 😉
