Thanks Ed for introducing me to a new plastic blank. I know many of you have already tried it, I'm slow in this regard. Earth's Core and Zen Black and White blanks from Exotic Blanks were used for these pens. The Zen turned like alumilite or acrylic acetate, so no issues, just ribbons. The earth's core was more chippy so I punted to a tool with a 2" negative rake cutter. That solved that and produced easy ribbons. The Zen buffed faster though both a very glossy now.

I have more and will buy more of the plastic.

A beautiful duet Mark. I have also turned an Earth's Core blank (many moons ago) and also liked it very much.

Very nice!

Truth be told...

If I were choosing again I would buy inlace acrylester molten metal over the rhinoplastic earth's core. I've tried many options to replace that inlace blank, but I'll be back. I will buy more rhinoplastic blanks.

Pretty good shop day: 7 cheese slicers finished and labeled, two Atrax and a Bloodwood bottle stopper finished in CA.

Greetings from Nebraska,
They are very attractive pens. I agree with you, I also prefer the Molten Metal over Earth's Core, but I have never made anything using black and white before. I am pretty sure I will be buying some Black and White swirl blanks of some kind when I get my next allowance.
Regards,
Dave

Beware it looks very uneven in the whole blank. Thankfully it is swirled even when turned. I bought five and will buy more Zen next time.

Well done, Rhino and Atrax are my favorite combinations. While I love rollerballs, I hate postable pens, they are so off balance. Atrax force the user to sit the cap to the side and have a good writing experience. Rhino Plastic blanks have such depth to them...there fore making your pens some of my favorite combos! Your fit and finish is awesome.....Well Done!!!
