I would like to show you a new pen type fully made from Bamboo and lacquered with transparent "Sukurome" Urushi lacquer, mirror polished. This pen is available without clip and/or with a matching clip made from a piece of bamboo node. The pictures show you how a bamboo clip is made

Best regards,

Martin

That is absolutely breathtaking!

Do you have to do anything special to the bamboo or can you just turn it like normal wood?
Thank you.
The bamboo has to be selected very carefully, I am searching for solid bamboo with small inner chamber.
After turning on the lathe the surface is quite "screwed" and much grinding with 80 grit abrasive paper is needed

OK, Martin...you got me! I have made very few pens since giving up my pen business IOT move to a USA location (Eugene, Oregon), where I could provide housing and care for my somewhat older (94 years) Dad. I am always quite taken by your excellent pen creations, but this one, along with the tutorial, GOT ME! I am going to attempt something inspired by these bamboo pens in this post. Wish me well, and thank you.

Beautifull work Martin! The pen - as the concept - is very attractive.
I do not see how you attached the clip. Did you make a recess in the cap? Did you only glued it with Nori Urushi?
