Like the title says. Actually made this pen yeas ago ( and posted it here) but what's new is the rollerball nib. It's a two part nib to maintain some definition after polishing. One part nibs lose their lines during the polishing process.

Very nice looking pen there mate.
How did the Lucite take threads ? I ask because I have a clear with white ribbons lucite blank that I am trying to decide what to do with.

Could you possibly show a picture of the two pieces of the two-part rollerball nib so we get a better idea about it, please ?

Also, where did you buy the two-part nib ? . Thanks very much !

Lucite takes threading very well. You can also get down to some pretty thin walls, if you do the more aggressive things like tap and die operations before you remove a lot of material. You just have to work out the order in which you're going to do things.

It was my first go at this. I made couple of boo-boos. You might be able to spot one of them right away.

For anyone interested, the main flaw is that I threaded the inside of the shaft piece much further than necessary because I couldn't figure out why the Point piece wasn't seating completely. It's been a while since I've done tap and die threading, and this two piece thing is a new idea, as well. I forgot about the need to cut a thread relief in the female threads to make up for the way the die doesn't quite cut threads all the way to the bottom of the (Male) thread tenon.

Bottom line is I drilled and threaded the tap hole far deeper than necessary and that made me chary about cutting too much of a curved shape in the shaft piece. I'll need to make a new shaft piece at some point. Everything else is good though.
