The quarterly challenge for the Richmond Woodturners was to do something "purely sculptural". After struggling to come up with an idea I decided to depart from round and brown and do an abstract teapot. The tea pot was turned on 6 axes and nothing is symmetrical or centered. Given everything going on in the world, my thoughts turned to the Mad Hatter so I made a couple of hats. I not sure if any of it works but here it is. Keep or lose the hats?

Keeper for sure. Funky stuff is sometimes more challenging and demonstrates skills better than a "proper" turning.

I am always amazed at your multi-axis work and this one is a beauty!

Wonky is Wonderful!!! It helps keep us from getting stuck in a rut.
I really like what you have done with this teapot both with and without the hats👍👍
Are there feet or is that just a prop?

Beautiful artistry Cody. I love it! I especially like that it is not a conventional profile; much more appealing and playful. Thanks for sharing.
