So, winter started for me in October with 7' of snow and then continued until February when it slowed down a bit. February left like a lamb and March came in like a group of storm troopers. From October to March 1 we've had about 10' of snow. I woke up this morning to -4 outside (cabin was a warm 58) and a bunch of this white stuff. The predicted 6-8", well we're over 2' now. That's my wife's Jeep in the background and we've got a lift kit on it. Tomorrow is shot in the shop, I'll be plowing two miles of dirt road, blowing and shoveling all day. The picture doesn't show the mountain in the foreground as it's hidden by...you guessed it...snow. Great for fire season so I should count my blessings. But I still love living where I live.

Well look at the bright side; if you stay put you won't be getting covid-19 or flu....:(

Absolutely! And we're well stocked to stay here for a very long time, we have to plan for months of bad weather. And being completely off grid electricity is not a problem nor is water, our well works great and it's filtered. Here's a picture I just took that shows the mountain in the background that I referred to in my first post.

Nope. I'm the guy who believes in the one sheet method, take one square, fold it into fourths, cut a whole in the middle and stick your finger though the hole, the rest is up to you. But I will be sure to wash my hands when I'm done.🤔 I do have some friends who have purchased ton's on TP. When I ask them why they all say, "you can never have enough TP". Like during Y2K, if I need it I know where the stock pile is...just sayin'

Beautiful winter wonderland. I guess you have to know where the driveway is to plow it? 😁
It's hit and miss Chuck. There's been a couple of times where I've almost missed it and driven over the edge. Never fun especially if Barb's in the plow with me. She always has that shocked/astonished look on her face when I have to slam on the brakes. But it's always fun. You should fly out here and give me a hand.😂

Spring, heck that arrived back in Dec here in NJ. We had about 3" of snow all year. One of the warmest winters on the books here. Not complaining at all. Take this every year. Snowblower never left shed. Yesterday 72 degrees on the second week of March. Not heard of around here. Need to get fertilizer down soon. Flowers are blooming.

That would be a good time!

Looks good but you need to be very aware of things no doubt! Stay safe, I guess tobogganing down the drive is not an option then ?

Safety is always key when I plow. I always carry an extra 5 gallons of gas, a wool blanket and my .45 pistol. As for tobogganing, that's what happens when I slip and fall. I usually end up sliding into something. Never fun though.

We ended up with 2' of snow over the weekend, a couple of days where we got a couple inches. Lots of plowing, shoveling and blowing but our temps are ranging up to almost 50 and all but the big mounds of snow are gone. But, we are now experiencing icicles coming off the roof. I call this one "Bend it like Beckham".
