WAS...I sold it about eight years ago...it was a very used Reliant purchased off Craigslist.
I still do not get this posting. Are you complaining about that lathe or a new one. You are very cryptic here. When you say you should have kept it I am guessing that was the better lathe as opposed to some new lathe.

I'm sorry for the confusion, I guess my humor missed its mark. I was complaining about my first lathe that was so out of round it looked like I was using an off center chuck.

I moved up to a Shop Fox 1646, I soon realized that wasn't much better but I could turn larger bowls. Then I moved down in size to a Jet 1221VS...way way better! Two years before I retired (cash flow was much better then) I purchased the lathe of my dreams and the last lathe I'll ever buy, a Powermatic 3520C. Which now I'm the butt of my friend's jokes..."You really needed that lathe to make pens?" I replied: "Yes, boy does it drill a straight hole!"
Happy? Never been happier.
