Please suggest a decent meter (for up to $100). Aside from using it on woods I need it for drywall and baseboards. Thanks

Before I suggest anything I would, like to know if you need the instrument with or without "pins"/spikes normally 2 that you need to insert slightly into the material you need to test.

I do not know anything about these meters so I'll take any suggestions. Pins & no pins.

For the price range you are after, I don't think you will find anything without pins, laser type meters are always more expensive and you can easily spend $1,000 on one so, your best option is the normal 2 pin meters, I have 5 or 6 of them all different brands and reading with different range scales, generally these meters read from 4 from 38 or 39%, others from 6 to 68% and so on, each one is different, I prefer the ones that read close to 100%, these normally are more expensive as they are similar to the commercia/wood industry type that read from 0% to 100% some have pins some don't, I have one made by Flir that reads by putting the handheld piece over the wood the laser gives you the readings, that cost me $700+ but in my testing various manufacturers, I have found a very inexpensive MC% moisture meter that reads from 4% to 99% for about $25 or so, it works well and is less confusing than the other reading scales where for example 38% is wet/green so, my suggestion/reccomendation for wood goes for https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Moistur...m3d8f277b27:g:4icAAOSwK6ZdJxn-&frcectupt=true.

This is a new model that I haven't tried yet but it is advertised to be used on Timber, Concrete, Brick, Wood, Plaster, Firewood and you will find it here

Hope this helps,

Cheers
