Trying to learn how to take a screen shot. Yea I am not computer smart. :)
I do not have Paint on my computer. I tried INKSCAPE but can not find the file I thought I saved to. How do I find files on my computer??

OK this is ridiculous. Do not know what I am doing. I am asking for help.

Try opening your documents folder or open your drive C. There should be a search bar. If you know the name of the file or even part of it, you can type it in and it will search for it on your computer.

Yes this is what I just did and can not find it. I need to start over.

You may be able to click on the file icon (can't remember if XP has that). It should bring up a quick access page in file explorer. That usually tracks files you have accessed recently.

To do a complete screen capture, there should be a PrtSc (print screen) button on your keyboard. You will probably have to hold down the "shift" (or "alt" depending on your keyboard configuration) button as you press "PrtSc" as PrtSc is a secondary keyboard function. So just hold down the shift key while you press the PrtSc key, then let go. You have in effect copied the entire screen to your clipboard. You can then just do your normal paste operation, by holding down the Ctrl (control) key and pressing the "v" key.

Hope this helps...

There are a number of ways to take a screenshot. The easiest and one that works on all PC's is to use printscreen But if you have multiple windows open make sure you press AltPrintscreen(the alt key and the PrntScrn key together). This just captures to window you are working in. If you are on a newer version of Windows you can use the snipping tool to capture the part of the image you want. Both of these methods just put the image into the clipboard. If you then open up say word or Paint, you can then copy your image into that and then save it. Hope this helps
