The days in our lives we remember. Nov 4th 1980 6pm... was closing my shop and guy comes in and pulls a gun announces a robbery... I did not get to vote (Ronald R won). Spent a few hours at police station looking a mugshots. It's hell of night when you feel the last person you are going to look at is a 1st class POS. A shopping spree went on for about 10 minutes and they left.....After that when people say everyday is beautiful day...it certainly is.

Glade you made it thru; sorry for the unbelievable trauma being forced to look down a gun barrel! Even if it were a .22, it looked like a howitzer. Sorry, that's stuff you don't forget. God Bless!

Bummer. I am glad you survived. I would say "without injury", but if you are bringing it up now, it must have left scars.

I am curious. It seems like a woodshop is not the best place to rob. The truly expensive items are too heavy to steal. What did they take? Routers and small hand tools? Pieces of ebony? How much could they possibly carry?

I should say the went on a ransack spree trying to find things. I had an orthodontic dental lab. Everything in there is absolutely worthless. Acrylic and stainless steel wire. They were looking for gold... the robber once worked in a lab that casted gold and thought every dental lab has precious metal. They got nothing and an empty wallet to boot. Used the credit cards. BTW... they did get caught. Court was a joke.

My daughter-in-law was at the business end of a 22 in a bank hold up. It too her years before she could even enter the bank again and she would panic whenever she saw someone in a black hoodie. The trauma obviously can last for years.

It leaves a dent. I had a hard time leaving work. My life was threatened if I called the police... also had my home address from the drivers license in the wallet. I definitely called the police.
It raises the caution level. Im
Ok but I'm all eyes. I try to stay aware of my surroundings. If it ever happens again I'd do the same and give everything up and hope it ends smoothly. If someone wants my car... I'll upgrade. My wallet.. I'll buy a nicer one.
