Hey there, I just found IAP, looks like a great community. I am pretty new at this and really struggling with custom blanks staying together and the Celtic knot is not working out for some reason but I still enjoy it and people are very appreciative of them. Attached are some recent projects. Thanks for accepting me!

Hi Dave !! . Welcome to IAP !!

Your pens look really good ... looks like you have been taking some big, bold steps !!

You'll get the hang of the Celtic knot in time.

I'd really like a CNC set up of some sort. Do you have a link for details on yours?
I bought mine from the States, Inventables. There machine has gotten a little more expensive over the last couple of years.
If I was looking again, I would look at a new startup company in Kitchener, Ontario. Sienci Labs
They are rolling out there first run from the kickstarter they ran. But they are taking pre orders for the next batch. I like the design of it and believe its stiffer than mine. I would probably try to mount a Hitachi M12vc router to it. It's a little heavier, but it has a much lower speed than the Dewalt 611, which is more important than I realized in CNC.

@Curly may sing in hear. I think he plays with CNC as well.

I don't have CNC anything and you'd poke your eardrums with an icepick if you heard me sing. Manual metal lathe and manual milling machine plus woodworking machines. I used to work in an aerospace machine plant surrounded by big, up to 190' long, milling machines making me happy to be away from them. I also am not crazy about sitting in front of a screen drawing and programming for hours to make a single part. Don't get me wrong, they have their place and many people love them. They are also great for complex parts or repetitive work especially if you were to get into making your own fountain pen feeds or sculpted/carved pens.

Sorry Pete I must have mixed you up with someone else.
