So, my lovely wife had a business conference to attend... "Hey, lets have a 4-day Ohio Penturner's Get-Together!"

This past weekend, 13 IAP members filtered through between Wednesday to Sunday morning. Minnesota, Colorado, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio were represented.

No commentary, just evidence that we had a great time.

Apologies for the pictures.

You mean to tell me that these are the guys we communicate with here ? ... Sheesh !!

Who's the gal in the dark green tennis dress ? ... quite the racquet !

Looks like Sierras (or similar) figure heavily in the arsenal.

Hi Mal, she's my shop Pin-up girl! My daughter as a senior tennis player in High School.

She just started her Ph.D. in Physical Therapy at the Univ. of Dayton. Had taken a gap year to make money, and save up for Grad School.

Sierras were overrepresented. No real reason, about 4-5 folks made the blanks, so just the luck of the draw. Most of my segmented stuff were 2 1/4" - 2 1/2", so had a few more opportunities for kits.

Mark ... interesting about your daughter starting her PhD ... I did mine in Physics, back in the 60's. Learned to use a metal lathe then because I had to make my own experimental apparatus ... one of the most useful skills acquired ! ... along with typing for my thesis !

As one of the recipients of these pens, I also want to thank Ernie. I have already received many compliments from friends that I've shown it to. Two of them tried to pocket it. This is in reference to the pictures posted by Chuck.

Hmmm. I'm reminded of the question, "Would you buy a used car from these guys?"
Looks like a fun group. I would like to have a transcript of the conversations at the meeting. Would be loads of good information. Thanks for sharing. Did someone have a sale on Sierra kits?

Well, there were 13 or so people there. Siearra's are most popular, So hence all the Sierra's you see :)

I've never turned a Sierra; but I bought the bushings.

Sent from my iPhone using Penturners.org mobile app

Bushings are good! :bashful:

We measured the components and the bushings - all was acceptably close. We were using up a bunch of kits I had for several years. Hense the emphasis on the Sierra Series. (Hey, free is free!).

So, Berea Sierras, and Sierra Clicks and Sierra Vista (not displayed yet). A nice combination of tube dimensions and bushing dimensions - good practice! All went well and a nice session to use calipers and match with final dimensions... You get the message! Some very nice pens were turned.
