Searching the forums, I found a post on this from 8 years ago, but I learned the hard way. I usually buy powdered latex gloves from my local Ace Hardware, but when in Harbor Freight recently I was enticed by the box of 100 blue 5 mil Nitrile gloves for $ 5.00.

DO NOT USE THEM WITH CA!!!

That's all I'm gonna say.

I don't use gloves for CA. Just wipe my fingers with a paper towel and acetone. I keep a supply of HF nitrile gloves. I get them when on sale in one of their sale flyers.

Oil damages latex. Acetone damages nitrile. Therefore, when working with oil (such as changing the oil in my car), I wear nitrile gloves. When working with acetone (doing CA finishes), I wear latex gloves.

I hope that helps,
Eric

I have found both the burn, but only after accelerator has been applied. I have always had plenty of time to get the gloves off. I am NOT recommending this. I am just relating my experience.

I miss the old thin silicone rubber like gloves that stretched. Been years since I have seen them but I still miss them. I don't like nitrile or latex, not stretchy enough.

Costco has a great deal on 200 count gloves. I use a lot of gloves finishing, painting tubes so good AND cheap matters. I use them for CA all the time. I rarely get burned but perhaps some accelerator adheres to the glove and the CA cures on my glove. I admit to ripping off gloves to avoid burns with paper towels. With the small plastic bags that come in pen kits over one gloved finger I do not have problems any more.

Just use gloves when mixing epoxy and a small plastic bag from pen parts on my index finger when applying CA. Easy to toss and no cost

One side issue to keep in mind: The medical community's experience has shown that many people develop allergic reactions to latex after repeated use. Reactions vary from minor irritation to extremely severe and it seems to be a cumulative thing with repeated use. I personally know of two EMS providers who have developed moderate sensitivity to latex over an extended period. Just passing along a little food for thought; everyone's situation is different.
