This was my entry for a monthly woodturning group challenge to turn a sculpture. When I saw the theme I thought to myself you don't know "Jack " about sculpture and almost took a pass on the challenge. Multi-axes turning between centers with metal effects paint. Getting the center intersections to match up was a bear.

Outstanding! Multi-axis turning on this would take a lot of patience to turn and reposition the piece on the lathe. What paint and your technique for applying it, please?

The paint is Modern Masters Metal effects. This was the copper with blue patina. You put a coat of the copper on let dry, apply a second coat and then spritz the second coat with the patina solution while it's still wet.

They have iron with a rust patina, and bronze, they have both a blue and green patina for the copper and bronze.

It is only 3 1/2 inches wide/tall. I kept it small with the seasoning thought that I might add more jacks and a ball later.

That's quite a turning. You did a great job making a realistic metal finish, which I know from my model building days can be a little trickier than it looks. Nicely done.
