Here's my most recent project. Not my idea. There was a similar treatment done a few years ago by a major manufacturer.
23kt and 12kt over oak, cast with Royal Palm Resin. I think the white gold came out especially nice. C&C welcome and appreciated. I think I'll make a few more before I move on.

Thanks Charlie, Mark and Mal.
Charlie, Yes the blank was cut small, gold applied and then cast in the resin, then cut to size. Giving them a smooth feel and encasing the gold.
It will be interesting to see if in time the white gold tarnishes.
I may do one with silver leaf and allow it to tarnish before casting.

I really like the way the grain and texture of the wood shows through. Had not thought of using the gold and silver leaf before. I'd be interested to see the tarnished silver leaf if you end up doing it!

Also, what kits are those?

Thank you Brian, Hank, Jay and Dustin.

Jay, I'm curious and will be watching for what you come up with.

Dustin, theses are a Mistral BP and a Mistral FP.
I ordered some silver leaf last night.

Amazing and beautiful. I favour the gold one myself, but that'ss the difference between the US and UK sense of aesthetic. I know you mostly seem to prefer white metal and we prefer yellow metal, but that said, I love them both.

Would you mind if I shared your photo on the Beaufort Ink site? I think lots of visitors would be interested in seeing them.

I'm very interested to see how the tarnished silver looks as well.

Thanks Phil!
I do think it all came together nicely with your great kits.
Yes, It would please me if you did use the image.
There are some spectacular gilders in your part of the world. The ones I know of work in the sign business. They do wonderful work.
Interesting about the geographical choices in metals. Currently rose gold is very popular here.
