G'day peoples,

After some consideration, I decided to change the Mr. Anonimous games platform and principals and make it a "game of luck" where your knowledge level and experience has no influence and or importance to get the prize/win.

I want to give some incentive to our new members and those that aren't so new but still in the "cooking" stages, I want all them to participate and be part of these games, something that has been very difficult to achieve with games based on relevant knowledge to this industry and wood processing characteristics so, I'm going to make it extremely simple and easy to participate.

So, what is this new game about it...?

Well, I will start/open the game as normal and instead of asking questions, you guys and gals that want to participate and have a shot at the AU$100.00 give voucher, the only thing you will need to do is to post and say something like, "I want in", "I will play" I'm in", "count me in", etc., etc...!

Your name is then put in a small piece of paper, folded and put in a hat/bucket/container/whatever I got on hand, the game will be open for 3 days (72 hours) during to which I and any of you are invited to post some jokes or interesting stories that will give us a "giggle" while we are all waiting for the 3 days to pass.

I only need one post with your confirmation that you're in the game, the rest you can post as you wish.

After the 3 days and all the names in the hat, I will ask Merissa to remove one only folded paper and I will request her to unfold and read the name.

To make sure you can see/follow this process, we will have a video camera recording that moment, Merissa after reading the winner's name, she will turn the paper towards the camera so that everybody can see it. This will be made with the camera fixed/pointed towards the draw heat, this will be quick and sweet...!:wink:

The winner will be then announced in the main thread as normal, the rules for the selection of the blanks still the same, you need to divide the $100 into 3 categories, raw blanks, stabilised blanks and Resifill (cast) blanks, any extra purchases outside the voucher amount, you can select whatever you wish...!

So, the next Mr. A game with the new format will be starting in a few days time so, get ready...!

Please, new members, you have no excuses to not participate in these games, everybody has the exact same chances to win the AU$100.00 prize so, let's make it so that nobody gets disappointed...!:)

PS: I hope I haven't forgotten any important detail...!

Cheers
George

Thanks, George! I've been wanting to participate but never am at my computer to look through all of your wood to try to find the right ones. I like trivia, but have only been woodworking for about a year...

Looking forward to it!

Thanks guys,

Simple things are often the most enjoyable, I also should acknowledge that there are a great number of members and followers on IAP that would prefer me to continue "teasing" their minds with my questions and subjects relevance, all part of the learning process and information sharing, that is a powerful tool no doubt and I'm known to get deep into these issues that are connected/linked the one way or the other with the wood industry and all its possible directions, including pen turning/making/dressing, I understand and accept all that, I'm not saying that I will not come back to the older game format one day but for now and until I see it appropriate, the "luck game" will be the one that will provide us with some entertainment for a while...!

I'll play your new game, though I did enjoy researching and learning with the puzzles you sent.

How many of you walk on a wood floor and admire the boards to find ones with figure that would make great pens?

Oh boy...! you would be surprised of the temptations I get when I see some pretty wood, on floors, windows, doors, walls, ceilings, skirt boards and in furniture, I have had some funny moments when I visit some large furniture places such as Harvey Norman here in Australia, I get caught turning things upside down to see if is real wood, imitations or laminations and never stop to surprise me the quality of some of the imitation burls and high grained wood of well-known names, the Asian people have some amazing craftsman and wood finishers, some wood stain and some odd applicators, remember this...?:eek:

Count me in if I can enter, George. However, if I happen to win I would like to donate the prize to the 2018 Bash.

There would be no reason for you not to be able to participate in these new games and if you win, I reckon your prize donation is of great sentiment, I'm sure organizers of the 2018 Bash would be pleased with such donation, thanks.

Hey George, I have an added feature to your game. Someone can "eliminate" someone. So I eliminate Alan Kulwicki.

An added feature to my game..? I don't think so...!

As for someone can "eliminate" someone, that ain't happen if someone is ever going to be eliminated, that will be done by one person only and that will be me...!

I'm a little lost to work out this joke of yours, I have no idea who this Alan Kulwicki is and what he ever did to you, the way I see it is, I'm not sure what to think of this post of yours, and maybe someone may need to be eliminated, and you can only guess who that person will be, huh...!:)

AlanKulwicki7 is a good guy, we have a couple teases back and forth before, there was absolutely no malice towards him. It was good natured ribbing that is all.

Now, AlanKulwicki7 looks familiar as an IAP member, I've thought you were talking about the race car driver...!

I'm not much good at "jokes" particularly of those kind and I still have no idea what the joke was about but that's OK is not important to me.

You've got a "strange sense of humour" sometimes I get it other times I don't, or I pretend I don't, is better that way...!:)

I would like to let everybody know that, these new Mr. A Games will re-start very soon, due to the "offer" thread I initiated recently, for the new couple of days I will be receiving all the Paypal payments for shipping and get all the parcels in the mail, they will take from 7 to 14 days to arrive at most destinations and while everybody is waiting for their parcels then, I will start the first Mr.A game with the new format, it will all done and over with well before the parcels start to arrive...!:wink:

Hey George,
Ed and I have been joking with each other for a while. He thinks that Chevy's are the best cars when it comes to NASCAR and we all know that Ford's are the best, right?

It's all good here

So Mr. Ed, what made you think that would be a good idea to carry on with your joking with Doug on my Mr. A games...? Not smart, mister...!

And by-the-way, I'm a Holden guy but now that Holden is dead I will go back to a push-bike motorized...!:)

George,
I have never claimed to be too bright. My facebook status this morning tagged my wife with a big statement of her turning 40 today. And I did post it on her facebook page also.
