I was able to acquire one of Mark James fluted segmented blanks at the MPG. It so happened I owed another pen to a swap partner, John Sanford (Bikerdad) I thought he might like this one better. I have one more of these kits, and have the tubes glued into a Robotacion blank:biggrin:

Not sure what woods Mark used with this blank, but I gave it a CA finish, and put it on an Apprentice Jr. Gent Chrome kit. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for turning and showing the finished pen Chuck. You did a great job !

I'm glad to see this as I only made that one blank with an 8 slot pattern. I am not positive of the initial blank, I suspect Bloodwood. The end cap which I have is not open grained like Padauk.

The inlays were wenge and oak.

Maybe I'll make some more after "Frankie" wakes up. :sleepy:

Just an FYI folks:

The pictures do NOT do that pen justice. The blank is stunning, and Chuck delivered on it's promise.

Thank you very, very much Chuck.

I actually moved the camera on the second shot.

Glad you like the pen John. Thanks for your patience.
