I lucked out today. My wife & I ordered a freezer 2 weeks ago from Lowes.
I never got a confirmation of order email or anything else from them when I ordered it.
I spent an hour on the phone with corporate headquarters going over my problem with them today.
They had no idea where my freezer was, or why I never got an email or anything else.
So, I asked to speak to the escalation team. (You need to remember that term for future reference, believe me.)

The Vice President of corporate affairs herself gets on the phone with me and in 10 mins, she not only found my freezer, but is going to have it delivered a day earlier than scheduled.
She asks me what they can do to make thing better from having to wait so long, etc.
I said a $100 gift card would go a long way towards restoring my confidence in their company. She readily agreed.
I should receive said gift card by week's end.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives."

Truer words were never written.

Thanks for reading & I hope I can help someone by posting this.

I just love a story with a happy ending. I learned a long time ago when I worked as a ticket and gate agent for a major airline, that if you remain calm, professional, and reasonable, you will almost always reach a more satisfactory solution than if you raise your voice or rant and rave. Quite often people have much more discretion in decision-making than people realize and they are much more likely to "reward" a polite, reasonable person than a screamer. That lesson has worked well for me for many, many years. Stay calm and polite and have a specific "solution" in mind when you advise the store representative what you think would be an equitable solution.

I agree. The old saying "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar" often applies to today's life as well as it did 100 years ago.
If you are nice, calm, and polite with someone when you call with a complaint, you are probably going to receive far better customer service than if you call raising Cain.

My wife told me one time, "They are people too, and have had a worse day already than what you're having right now."

My wife has a lot of people sense.

Oh but it can get frustrating when you deal with incompetant people sometimes. You lucked out and be happy for it.
