Forum Runner

Well, I think the Forum Runner app has outlived its usefulness. With the new update for the iPhone iOS 10, if I'm using the app I can only seem to type 6 characters or so before the thing crashes! I hope they fix it, but seeing as their last update to the app was in 2013, I find myself doubting that possibility.

I deleted it from my samsung galaxy 7 because of several issues that no longer made it useable. Maybe me..maybe not. I do miss it.

Yes sadly it seems that way. All the other locations I use migrated to tapatalk.

I installed and tested it, but I thought it was crap so I disabled it.

It's heavy on the server side, and I thought the handheld interface was terrible.

That said, I'm willing to reenable it if that's the desire from our community.

I don't know anything about the technical end of these things.

I've been happy with forum runner. But, if the developer won't be updating it to work with ios10, then all iphone and ipad users will be unable to use it to post or comment.

So, my take is that I really like having an app based way to access iap.

My expectation is that the ForumRunner app will be updated. I've seen this through several IOS upgrades. That said, right now it's totally broken. I tried it from my SE running IOS10 and it quit randomly 5 times before I gave up.

I have re-enabled Tapatalk and it seems to be working ok on the server side, but I am having trouble publishing it at Tapatalk. Every time I click "publish" in the Tapatalk site owner dashboard, it thinks for a while then returns "Bad Gateway", which is a server issue on their end.

I'll keep working on it.

Jeff - I for one am okay with waiting a little while with the broken forum runner app if you think the chances are good for it to work right again in the somewhat forseeable future.

So, don't do too much work on my account. If the forum runner doesn't come through, I'd wonder if maybe the tapatalk might be the only option we have for an app?

OK, we're republished on Tapatalk, someone please check the functionality and let me know if it's working.

It also seems like ForumRunner is working too. I don't see an app update, so perhaps it was a server issue on their side.

Once you understand and master timeline vs unread you will never want to go back to forum runner.

I retract my earlier report. ForumRunner is still broken under IOS10. For me, no trouble reading, but typing one or a few character in a reply crashes it.

I submitted a bug report - surprised I seem to be the only report.

Curtis used to be in touch with the FR developers, maybe he has some influence...

It's the space that is throwing the error. The keyboard changes in iOS 10 does not agree with the handler.

Thanks for doing this. Tapatalk is much better in my opinion, at least for Android it is.
