3. Demo – Bruce Robbins/Herb Walke – Low Power Laser Engraving
We will have 1 or maybe 2 laser engravers for demo. If you want to engrave something on a pen, bring it along (preferably just the barrel). As is sometimes takes an adjustment to get it perfect, no promises, so don't bring your best blank, but if you want to try, bring 1 or 2 along and we'll see what we can do. As of now, only doing this on wood blanks. Will discuss how to do plastics, but will not demo at meeting. I will have a computer to generate names, but if you want to try a small graphic, bring it on a jump drive. These lasers do not have a rotary attachment, so the graphic should be limited to about 75% of the diameter of the pen or smaller. We will have software to adjust the fit. I will also bring along some types of color fill. If you plan on using color fill, make sure the barrel is sealed with CA. We will be able to engrave finished or unfinished barrels.
