My ceramic skillets were losing their non-stick-ability. They weren't scratched, but food was just beginning to stick. Just on a whim, I took them out to the shop and ran the electric palm polisher on them ($18, Harbor Freight). Wow. Look and cook like new again. My fried eggs just slid out on the plate this morning! It even improved my old teflon skillet.

Hi, do you have the model # or catalog # for the tool?

That is a great idea! I've got a Pampered Chef griddle that has roughened up a bit and is no longer as stick-free as it used to be.

Here is a link to the tool

6" Compact Palm Polisher

And I used a little brown tripoli on it...that is what I had.

Is it food safe???
I would think it washes off - it is a light abrasive not a wax.

But it was rubbed into another material?

Guess the real test is.....how do the eggs taste now?

Scott (I've eaten worse) B
Rubbed on more than into removing small amounts of the material sort of like sand paper removing wood not adding sand to your blanks.
