Two pictures of pens are hidden somewhere in the initial Apple version of the app.

One of the photos shows a couple of pens that I made. You won't earn any prizes for finding that one. :)

The other photo shows a pen made by another IAP member. If you can find that photo, be the first person to:
1. Identify the pen & its maker, and
2. Post a screen shot of the photo in this thread

The first person to do so will win a $25 gift certificate to the IAP vendor of his or her choice, courtesy of the IAP.

The maker of that pen does not know that I included the photo in the app, so that person is eligible to win this prize.

Happy hunting
Edgar

Not fair....not fair!!!!!:mad::tongue:

This contest is only open to the posh people with Iphones.
If they can afford those, then they don't deserve to win any prizes.

Kidding of course, we all appreciate the effort you guys have put into this new fangled techie stuff.

That's it, John. Congratulations. :)

Let me know which IAP vendor you would like to favor with your prize and we'll get it set up for you.

In case some other users haven't figured out where the pen images are located, why don't you tell us how you found it.

Wow! I rarely win things! As for the prize, let me ponder that and I'll PM you later.

How did I find it? Well, it started the other night with a question about whether or not I could get away with casting just the lower tube of a cigar pen in a sierra mold, and I knew that I could get away with an aero tube in the mold.

I went to check the tube length, and I saw this little pen icon that led to that very nice looking aero featured above. I highlighted the button with a purple box. And I just realized I probably should charge my phone soon.

Great job, John.
Two pens in the whole app with photos & you just happened to stumble on one of them out of curiosity. Can't beat that!

Besides having some fun, the other reason for this contest was to introduce some new features that will being added to the app.

The app already has most of the PSI kit instructions. Many instructions for other suppliers are being added.

The app has the hooks for pen images & already includes images for two of the kits. More images will be added to the next release.

I am also adding bushing drawings for those kits for which such drawings are available. This may only be for PSI kits, but if I can find any others, I will add those as well.

If a photo, kit instructions or bushing drawings are available for a kit, an appropriate icon will show up on the Detail View. Tapping that icon will pop up the image or pdf file. If a kit instruction or bushing drawing exists, it can be printed or mailed along with the kit info.

Cool, Cool, Cool!

Edgar, you talked about using members pen images in this application. I'm sure members would be clamoring to get theirs in this great app.

How they would be chosen? Would it be preferred to use suppliers images?

Thoughts?

I'm open to suggestions.

I was thinking that the IAP Collection & Featured Photos would be a good place to start.

One possibility might be to start with supplier images and replace some of them from time to time with member images. I've noticed that it's not always easy to tell exactly what pen kit was used in some of the member postings.
