Finally returning to woodwork and penturning as well as this site. Fire destroyed entire shop and all equipment in February of this year. The battle continues trying to replace building then we might get to obtain some equipment and back to turning!!! My advice to all: know exactly what you got and clean your shop!

Bloody hell mate, what caused the fire...???

I hope you had insurance, if not, you are lucky to be back to your feet so soon, If I was to lose everything is my work-shot, lolly-shop and wood storage sheds (all together), I don't think that I would recover ever again, as I have no insurance. I do however, have invested in some fire fighting equipment that, may save my property if, I'm around when fire starts, apart from that, just trying to be careful with flames and inflammable products, that I have plenty of.

I do also offer you some pen blanks, if you need some, you only need to let me know...!

Good luck./

Cheers
George

Thanks folks! I did have insurance but if you dont know exactly what you have ins company will not give you what is worth. Wood stove started the fire, upper barrell collapsed. As far as fire fighting epuipment, i had 3 extinguishers 2 of which melted! I will be taking you guys up on some blanks, hoping to hang rafters this week and replace roof next week. I have on order enough basic stuff to get me started. Thanks again...
