My brother sent this to me this morning. I don't think you will find a better deal on a new lathe

Seems like they are trying to unload a bunch of lathes. Is it MT2? What powers it? What do the reviews say (often those are cherry picked or made up). Tailstock looks mighty weak for a 14 X 40 lathe as does the bed. I can tell the table on the sander is weak from that pic. Research it elsewhere before taking the plunge. If all else fails it could be a polishing station.

its a hf unit.

Look at the Comp at price - $1299??? Really!!!

This is why I posted. Complete sarcasm in my original post

Thank you for the sarcasm alert. I am a little thick sometimes. I did look into it. Most buyers report problems from opening the box. Also its discontinued and no parts are available. It is still being sold on Amazon though for $262 I think. They might make a nice reef out in the Gulf.

Hmmm.... I have had some Central Machinery tools that while not top quality were a lot better than anything else you could buy for anything like the same price. I sold one of their chop saws after 5 years of use for a little more than I paid for it new. Sold it to a neighbor who borrowed it and liked it so much he wanted to keep it.

I've got their Mini-Lathe (VS) and have had good luck with it. It's motor is a trifle wimpy but for pens, bottle stoppers, game calls, shaving items, pepper mills, etc, it does just fine. Yes the spindle thread is 3/4 and it has MT1 but a lot of lathes used to have that. I am satisfied with my HF Lathe.
