Some recent glass work

These are a few of some recent glass pieces that I've made. Two trivets have wooden frames so far. One is made from Hairy Oak, (an Aussie She-oak or casuarina) and the other is Queensland maple.
The round white piece with the black and white dots will be a clock when I get the movement.
The other pieces are dishes and bowls.

I did some glass flatwork before getting into pens and turning. Mostly foil, some zinc and lead.

Hi Bob; Really nice glass work !!! I like the slumped panels. Did you use Boron Nitrite for your release agent, or do you have something else in your area ? Also what was your glass Spectrum 96, Uroborus 96, or something else. When do you find time to do and master all these different arts and crafts ? Fantastic work !! Jim S

Hi Jim,
Yes, Boron Nitrate is one agent we use and also a 50/50 mix of Silica and Ball Clay works just as well.
The glass we use is System 96 and also Uroborus 96.
It sure is fun fitting it all in, some days there are just not enough hours.

Try slumping some wine bottles into small trays... People love picking those up for serving hors d'oeuvre at their fancy parties next to the wine (in the same bottles).

..... Why not just make a glass tube and glue the nib and other parts on?

Great idea, but that is beyond my skills.
