The Penturners Gathering will be held the last weekend of February 2016 in Clearwater, Florida.

I am in need of donations for the door prizes! If you would like to help, please PM me the item(s) you would like to donate. I appreciate anything you can do.

Out of all the fine turners on this post, I find it hard to believe that only two persons offered to donate something pen related for the door prizes at the FLGAPG in February 2016.

I also need some demonstrators. So far, I have someone demo'ing kitless pens, fountain pens, stamps/bottle caps (maybe), photography.

As far as vendors, I have two vendors.

Any help for either of the two?

If it is too soon, just say so and I will get back to you the first part of November.

Hi Michelle: I am sure as we approach the date and get through the holidays, more donations and demonstrations will be forthcoming.

As one of the planning committee members, I will conduct a poll, as well as ask all to state what their expectations are for this inaugural event. This should be fun for all, but we don't know what "fun" is for everyone. For me, it's a short ride (less than 6 hour car ride), meet some fellow turners, and watch how other folks (not necessarily the experts, do things). I am sure expectations are different for all.

Let see what the membership has to say. I will set up the poll by late tonight.

My thought is you need to send an Email or letter to the various vendors with the pertinent information and ask if they would like to donate. More people will donate as the event draws nearer. Your post has only been viewed 175 times as of the time I write this so not a lot of exposure yet.
I will donate a kit of some kind and will try and attend but your scheduling is right at the end of the Bash and I have a lot of work to do on it at that time to wrap things up.

I'd say you are too early, based on my MPG experience. You have to set the date early, and get a block of hotel rooms, then sit back and wait until 6 weeks or so before the event. Demonstrators are always the toughest to get. Really the toughest part of all the planning. Pretty soon you will have to come up with subjects and see if someone has those skills. We had the same guys demo for years. It's that tough!
