A Churchill style fountain pen in royal blue and black acrylic acetate. The spiral band is gold plated and the rest are brass.

Thanks Steve. The spiral band does work as a roll stop as long as the pen cap is not rolled too quickly.

Is the spiral band a slip fit, or is it secured in some way ? .... like with a groove.

It is a slip fit. The band is very easy to tighten or loosen by either pulling or squeezing the free ends.

Thanks Tom. It is based on a pen called the Churchill by the Conway Stewart Company of England which recently went out of business. The Winston version of this pen is featured as a spy gadget in the movie The Kingsmen.
