Today I had to put my beloved pet Babie down. We had her for over 17 years and she ran this family. We had a few pets in our lifetime but Babie was very special. She would come into the shop look around to see what I was doing and than go about her business. She loved to play and run around the yard. It seems like a part of me went with her. We got her from a shelter for abused animals and it was love at first sight.
RIP Babie.

My condolences. Been there many times..... as recently as this past summer. I hope your grieving is short.

Babie Rest in Peace.

I am SO VERY SORRY to hear of your profound loss of your beloved Babie. Our fur kids are a very important part of our family and losing them is just like losing any other family member. You had her for a very long time and while some might say that should make it easier, to me it makes it even harder. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear about your loss. My wife and myself do not have any kids in our life. So our puppy is like our child. If I'm not at work, then my puppy is beside my side. So I do feel for your loss...

So sorry to hear of your loss. Hopefully, you can hold on to the happy memories and recall the good times with your beautiful Babie to help you through the sadness. You will hold her in your heart forever and you made her life full of happiness and joy.

Sorry for the loss your companion. Here is a comfort for you:
I have discovered that every time a dog leaves me they take a piece of my heart with them, and every time a new dog comes into my life, they gift me with a piece of their heart. I can only hope that I if I live long enough, all the pieces of my heart will be "dog" and I will be as loving and giving as they are.

What a beautiful thing to say...brought tears to my eyes thinking of the pups in my life that have gone on before me. And not even my bad day today. I too hope to leave this earth with an all dog heart. :)

Thank you.

Good Friends

Good friends leave paw prints in your heart.

The Cowboy Philosopher Will Rogers said, "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."

My version of that is "If there are no dogs - then it ain't heaven".

RIP Babie.

I've very sorry for you loss. As others have said, we been there before and it never seems to get any easier. As an aside, after we lost my wife's absolute favorite dog, I had a portrait done of her and gave it to my wife for Christmas. I found an artist on another site I visit (I keep snakes as pets) and this woman does unbelievably great work. This portrait was done in oil pastels and is about 3/4 life size. The portrait now hangs in our living room as reminder of a wonderful friend and companion. Here's the picture she painted for me from a scan of a snap shot I sent her. Let me know if you'd like her contact information.

I have no affiliation with this lady other than a VERY happy customer of her work.

The Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge togethe

I feel your pain, and anyone that has been in that situation, know well how it feels...!

I always found it extremely difficult to live without pet dogs, we also never had any kids so, our pet dogs get all the attention in the world but, they give it all back, times folded so, is sad when they go but, I like to minimize the pain by getting another pet dog and learn to know him/her, each one is always very different but, they all have a king heart...!

Cheers

I am so sorry! I had to put my dog down on February 18th....It has been so difficult to accept. She was with me for 15+ years :( Take it one day at a time...

My condolences. The two kittens who I have bought for my Daughter and Wife, have followed me around for 12 and 13 years now... I didn't adopt them, they adopted me. I know I will dearly miss them when the time comes.
