While making a pen and pencil set for my sons wrestling teams silent auction I pressed the trans in a little too far. Its a Summit gold
The tip is just sticking out when closed.
My question is when I use the HF punch set will it ruin the trans and tip or can I just tap the trans back far enough to be correct?
The blanks are a segment and decal combo that took a while to figure out and would like to not have to start over.
Thanks in advance for advice.

Marnet3, if it was me I'd use a punch to first knock out the tip, then take a larger punch one that is as close to the size of the inside of the brass pen tube. By using one this size, there's less chance of damaging the transmission. This is how I fix any that I've ever pressed in to far, it's quick and easy and does no damage.

There is a new tutorial in the library that works, I know for sure, I wrote it. Works on the 7mm kits without damage to the tranny cause there is no hammering it.

That is just a shameless reply to get another vote in the Best Library Article contest for the bash. I am astounded, sir. (Of course, if I had written the article, I would have done the same).
