Its a very sad day today. Robin Williams has passed away. He was one of the great ones and will be deeply missed. I loved his roles in the Dead Poets Society and in Good Will hunting. There was a lot of passion in that movie.

Rest in Peace

I too will miss is humor. Thankfully, there is alot recorded that we can enjoy over again. He was one of the best.

My favorite to watch was when Robin and Jonathan Winters got together and played off eachother. I could never stop laughing at those two.

My sister has a weekend Apartment in Tibron. We were down there one weekend and had walked down to the main part town he was down there with his wife, very unassuming and polite. We said hello and let him go on about his life like most of people there that weekend. Very funny man and will be missed.

I have two different account of RW.

1. I drove my son up to San Francisco where there was a running shoe store My son had 14 1/2 A feet. the only store that would order them for him... so he was standing in line as Robin Williams got behind my son Wiliams is a very short person. and my son was 6'6" at that time. [Freshmen] Then my son turned around to leave the store Robin stated to him Your Very tall. My son said to Robin your very short. and then walked away. Williams said nothing after that.

2. the second time I saw Robin Williams was AT an event I was photographing The owner made sure I could get close-ups of Robin then he was on the stage. For the time Robin was on stage He used the F word -- too many times for comfort. ( that's my opinion) I lost all respect for the actor b/c of his performance that evening. Robin measured by many was a great comedian I have a different opinion of him.

I pray he rests in peace it is always sad when someone takes his own life., but have to admit I am one that will not miss him as a performer. I have seen many of his movies and enjoyed perhaps 2 of them. And, I wouldn't have walked across the street to watch him perform in person.

I think he is enormously popular with baby boomers - he was one of them - and later generations but just another performer to me. Personally I was more saddened by the passing of Lauren Bacall.
