I had someone call and request a nice antler pen. I had a full rack ofantler so I agreed. In the course of cutting apart the antler, drilling, gluing, and turning, all of the blanks either blew out on the drill press, blewout on the lathe, or were unsuitable for the pen I was making. I was at a losswhat to do as the deadline was close approaching (especially since I was out oftown for a week and a half). After all, it is not like you can run down to thecorner store and pick up some deer antler to turn a pen….
…..Or maybe you can. I went to our new Petco here in town to get somethingfor the dog and there on the counter is a box of deer, elk, and moose antlerperfectly sized for pen blanks. Definitely not cheap, but in a pinch it workedout great. Pen done, delivered, and customer happy.
