I've ordered my Nova G3 with the Pen Plus Jaws. I would like your input as to which other Nova Jaws you would recommend. Say for doing bowls and hollow vessels and pepper mills. Thanks for the help.

I just ordered one also. It should be here next Wednesday. I am hoping it will expand my horizons!

Kinda depends on what else you plan to turn.
35mm dovetail jaws for smaller bowls and spindles, 50mm dovetail jaws for medium bowls and boxes and spindles. Maybe Pin jaws - similar to the Pen Plus jaws but have four jaws instead of two. Better for turning than drilling. A set of Cole jaws are good for finishing off the bottom of bowls

and check out all their jaws.

I bought the pin jaws before the pen jaws were out. I thought about getting the pens plus buy the pin jaws work fine and are versatile for other projects.

Dan; I found those little nylon washers at my local hardware store for .25 each! A lot cheaper than any of the wood working stores. I bought a couple for less than the cost of one. Now if it gets sucked into my dust collector, I don't have to worry.

The metal to metal of the chuck against the spindle flange can sometimes be hard to get off. If they are not stainless, you could possible get some rust or a reaction of dissimilar metals in contact with each other. The nylon washer gives a break between the two and a slip surface when trying to unscrew the chuck.
Also, the impact of continuous turning and hitting the corners with a gouge acts like an impact wrench...tightening the chuck more and more as you turn. Someone who leaves the chuck on for months might have a problem getting it off.

I've made washers for mine from a plastic milk jug.
They can get pretty tight if you don't have them screwed all the way on and start your lathe (DAMHIK )

That is a lot for something that can be solved by any non metal washer
I have not found my chuck to get stuck, but do use a neoprene washer I cut myself from a left over shower stall instalation.
