Iced in for two days, nothing worth a flip on tv, too cold in the shop, wife's ill as a hornet. And on top of all that I'm have minor back surgery tomorrow which means 3 more days in the house off my feet. Not handling this all very well. Oh yeah, and to top it all off I got a dang squirrel in the attic.

Is it wrong to run away at my age??

Well, the pic you're describing, doesn't sound that encouraging, it may not be a thing you can do about the weather and the wife being unwell however, you have a squirrel to take care of, what better opportunity to grab a good air rifle or a .22, a hand full of nuts as bait, a warm blanket a comfortable chair or a soft mattress to lay on and some light, a few snacks in the pocket, and you're hunting my friend, watch and play with the creature a little and then, when you see is time, dispatch it humanly with a shot to the head.

It many not be much but, it may be all you need to relax a little and make the time go faster...!

Good luck,

Cheers
George

Sorry to hear your going to be off your feet for a while not ever a good thing. It kind of funny about what you said about TV, I remember growing up when we only had 3 to 5 stations and there would be nothing now we can have 6 times that many and there is still nothing on. You are allowed to run away but you have to take you wife becasue she is ill. I do know how you feel not being able to do to much. Things will get better.

It's not all bad.

You already got your entry in for the best contest at IAP (we all know which that one is:wink:).

A squirrel in the attic may seem bad, but it's way better than a ratcoon.

Things could always be worse.....but they could always be better too. I hope they are soon (better that is.....).

Well Kent... I have little advice.. Wife needs attending too... Squirrel in the attic... I pick the squirrel !

Hope all goes well with YOUR back surgery! I need to schedule 3-4 surgery's... Just don't seem to get around to scheduling them...

Take care! (Squirrel - RUN LIKE H..L)!

Hey Kent not as bad as it sounds. At least she ain't as mad as a rattle snake. Just get the Dr. To give you enough pain killer to make you forget this day. It has to get better. Behind ever cloud the sun always shines through. Surf the web for entertainment. Can always ding something on u tube. Tune in to Ed's channel and watch him turn a pen. Lol. Let us know how the back surgery works out. Remember the only way to catch a squirrel is act like a nut.

The surgery went OK,would have been a lot better if they had of knocked me out. Had to stay awake for me to tell them where it hurt. Very interesting. Hope it last, don't want to that again anytime soon. Wife's a little more pleasant today. Think it helped for her to get out of the house.

Dang Kent missed this, glad it went alright. Can't help with the hornet or squirrels. We had flying squirrels last year and costs almost a grand. Hornet like wives are a whole different ballgame!

If you're going nuts, give 'em to the squirrel.

Probably ill advised. I'd suggest a moderate walking pace.

I can somewhat relate. I retired over the holidays, and at home most of the time. Although I have no medical issues, the cold and the darkness are definitely depressing. I have to get outside, even if there is not much sunshine, just to get some natural light and to breathe some fresh air.

Sorry about the squirrel and hornet. Glad your back surgery went well. And I hope that you get to see your workshop soon.
JUST REMEMBER --- "It always rains after a dry spell" or vice versa in your case.

Bob.
